And We're Off!

Got up bright and early Saturday morning, loaded up my scooter and hugged my TX Mom Karen goodbye. I cannot tell you how good it felt to enjoy a beautiful day behind the wheel :) It's like that scooter grin I get when I'm riding :)

Made it safely to Silsbee to meet up with my RV sister Karen right on time for Happy Hour ;) She's heading east too, so we'll caravan over to Savannah together for the first leg of this trip.

This is Pepper, watching Mom pack up and making sure she doesn't forget anything ;)

This morning, we headed off for Louisiana and met up with another RV sister at the Atchafalaya Welcome Center for brunch :) Our dear friend Carolyn has been through some trying times over the past month. She was the caretaker of her 93 year old father. They had to evacuate from Butte La Rose due to the threat of flooding and went to stay with her sister in Lafayette. It was a real waiting game for them after the Morganza Spillway was opened and wondering if she would lose her home. Before she could even move back home last Friday, her father passed away and was buried on Thursday.

So there was no way we were going to fly through LA without stopping to hug her neck. So we did what the sisters do best. Eat! lol Off we went to Crawfish Town :)

Karen & Carolyn

This is the first of many visits with my RV sisters and delectable food! Check out my plate full of crawfish! The lighting wasn't so good, but those crawfish sure were!

Tonight, we landed in Gulfport, MS. Our RV park is right across the road from the beach.

We had no choice but to go walk it, take it all in and meet all my friends. lol!!!
